In the world of swing dancing, finding high-quality workshops tailored for early skill dancers can be a challenge. As events grow, they often attract top-tier talent and higher registration costs, making it intimidating for newer dancers.
We believe there's more than enough talent and passion for lindy hop, balboa, charleston, shag, blues (& more!) right here in the prairies, waiting to be shared with everyone.
Our vision is to keep it affordable and accessible, so everyone can experience the joy of dancing. It's not just about the price; our local teachers are a part of our community. They know our scenes, our dancers, and are the best guides for our swing dance journey.
This one-day workshop is an invitation to all dancers, not just those in Lethbridge. We’re excited to welcome you and share our fantastic community and hospitality.

Meet the Teachers!

Travis
Travis began dancing in 2005 while studying music at the university of Ottawa. He continued to dance throughout university and began to teach, coach, and compete. Today, his accolades include: - Vice Champion of Canada in Lindy hop - Champion of Canada in balboa. - Previous member and coach of international champion Lindy hop team the Swinging Air Force Squad - Appearance on many television shows are choreographer and competitor. He is known as a dancer with a very deep technical knowledge as well as a desire to present ideas in a multifaceted way. This making the learning process both fun and effective.
Eloise
Eloise has a background in ballet and learned to swing dance in Montreal. After a few years teaching there, she opened a swing school in Calgary where she tought Lindy and Balboa. Her dance background contributes to her own smooth styling and musicality when she dances!
Cedric
Cedric has been dancing lindy since at least 2018 and has been in theatre and circus even longer than that! That experience really explains the enthusiasm and energy present in his dance and teaching style. With first place finishes in the Canadian Swing Championships and several years experience coaching performance troupes we just know he'll be an excellent addition to the 2025 swingvolution teacher schedule!

Kick off the weekend with a Lethbridge Community Social Dance at the German Canadian Club! The dance will kick off around 7:30 and keep going to welcome in all the dancers arriving Friday night. The venue serves up great food and beverages so come hungry!

Back at the German Canadian Club! We're encouraging all dancers to meet for supper here before the dance! Socialize and get comfortable in the space before the dance will begin with a beginner dance lesson at 7:30 with Peter & The Wolves to follow. We almost gaurantee a packed house so don't come late!
